About this course

Level 3 Assessing Competence in the Work Environment Course in Loughborough. Classes run at Main Campus, part-time during the day over around one year.

Fees may apply depending on your age and circumstances. Contact Main Campus for details on what you may be eligible for. The course is for practitioners who already work in a vocational area and need a formal assessor qualification. You'll learn how to plan assessments, observe and judge candidate performance against national standards, record decisions, and build a portfolio of evidence. Topics include standardising assessment decisions and giving structured feedback in the workplace.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.

Who this course is for

The TAQA Level 3 Assessors Award is a qualification for practitioners assessing competence in the work environment. These were previously called the D Units or Assessor and Verifier Awards but are now known as the TAQA (Training, Assessor and Quality Assurance) Awards. For some qualifications it is stipulated by the Awarding Organisation that assessors must hold a relevant assessor qualification. This is an ‘in service’ award and candidates must have access to trainees (by job role or placement) in order to complete the process.
