The UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication are qualifications for post-16 students looking to pursue a specialist career in the creative industries. Both qualifications provide students with the necessary industry relevant skills, knowledge and understanding to access appropriate entry level roles, training programmes or apprenticeships in the creative sector, or apply for progression to related higher education courses This two-year course provides a varied but focussed programme giving students the skills, experience and knowledge to progress to Higher Education and a career in the Creative Industries. Students will learn in a practical and theoretical way and explore how art and design can be applied to employment and the community. Qualification aims To enable the candidate to: 1. Have a critical and contextual awareness of different perspectives and approaches within art, design or communication 2. Research, analyse and evaluate relevant information and ideas in order to develop creative solutions 3. Understand, adapt and safely use appropriate and practical methods and skills for creative production 4.
