About this course

Free Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hairdressing Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train while working in a salon role, building advanced skills on the job over 18 months. This level 3 advanced and creative hairdressing qualification requires a recognised Level 2 hairdressing qualification or equivalent to enrol. You'll develop the technical and creative skills to work independently, manage your own client list, and deliver fashion-forward styles. The course supports the Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard and prepares you for its End-point Assessment.

Who this course is for

Advanced and Creative Hair Professionals are creative, passionate, and driven professionals who work without supervision, managing themselves and others when required. Learners will provide a quality service, whilst working to the highest standards and continuously developing their personal and professional skills. Learners take ownership of their work and client lists, accept responsibility, are proactive, flexible and adaptable, plan their work and time; they aim for excellence by taking exceptional pride in their work and industry. Learners will deliver hair fashion forward trends, which are innovative styles inspired by current images and their own creativity, individual flair, imagination and interpretation.

Entry requirements

The qualification provides the learner with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work creatively as an employed and/or self-employed hairdresser. This qualification is aimed at those learners who hold a recognised Level 2 or equivalent hairdressing qualification. GCSEs or equivalent are not needed however they are advantageous in determining whether you will need to sit Functional Skills exams in Maths and English has part of your apprenticeship.

How you will learn

Training takes place in your workplace over 18 months. You'll build skills through practical, on-the-job experience in a live salon environment. Assessment is linked to the Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard, supporting your preparation for the End-point Assessment. The VTCT qualification is made up of 7 units, with a minimum credit requirement, assessed through a combination of practical observation and knowledge evidence.

The centre will provide most materials. Oracle Training Consultants will confirm anything else you need before you start.
