About this course
Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hair Professionals Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train while working in a salon, building advanced skills alongside your day-to-day role. The course is designed for stylists and hairdressers who have been working in the industry for at least 18 months and want to move into a more specialised position. It typically takes 12 months to complete. Before your end-point assessment, you'll need Level 2 English and maths if you don't already have them.
Who this course is for
Stylist or Hairdresser. This Advanced Apprenticeship is designed for people who have been working in the hairdressing industry for at least 18 months and are looking to move into a more specialised role.
Entry requirements
Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
What you will learn
You'll develop advanced cutting techniques for a range of hair types and textures.
You'll apply creative colouring methods, including balayage, colour correction, and specialist toning.
You'll carry out complex styling and finishing for editorial and client-facing work.
You'll advise clients on hair care, treatments, and styling options.
You'll manage salon services, including consultation, client records, and aftercare recommendations.
You'll meet industry standards for health, safety, and professional conduct in a salon environment.
How you will learn
You learn on the job, applying skills directly in your workplace. Assessment includes practical observations in the salon, a portfolio of evidence, and a professional discussion.
