About this course

Free Level 2 SIA Course. Study online. This free SIA course takes around 3 weeks and fits around your work and home life. It's free for learners claiming a UK benefit or earning less than £18,500 a year. You'll cover the knowledge required to work in the private security industry, including conflict management, law, and emergency procedures. The SIA requires all learners to have English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills at Level 1 as a minimum. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm the right starting point.

Entry requirements

Must be as a minimum Level 1 in English.

As Security operatives are likely in the course of their work to be required to complete written statements and make calls to the emergency services, or for example communicate to resolve conflict. It is essential that security operatives can communicate effectively.

The SIA have specified that all learners should, as a minimum, have language skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening equivalent to Level 1.
