Free Level 2 Safe Handling of Medication Course. Study online. You can work through the course at your own pace, from home or any location that suits you. The course covers how to administer, store, dispose of, and record medicines safely, along with understanding prescriptions and audit processes. You need to be aged 19 or over and hold at least a Level 1 English or Literacy qualification. The provider can assess your English level before you enrol. This course is designed for people already working in a health and social care setting. It takes approximately 120 hours to complete.
Who this course is for
The purpose of the qualification is to develop learners' knowledge and understanding of how to administer, store, dispose of and process medicines safely, and provides learners with an understanding of medication and prescriptions. This qualification is intended to prepare learners' skills in this subject area and to prepare them for further learning or training. This course is only suitable for those already working within a Health and Social Care environment or similar setting as you will need to draw on workplace experiences. This qualification can be used to update and continue your professional development, (CPD), and to develop knowledge/skills relevant to the occupational specialisation.
Entry requirements
You will need to be aged be 19+ as at 31st August prior to the start of the current academic year. You will also need to have at least a Level 1 qualification in English/Literacy or equivalent. To assist in completion of this qualification, it may help to be working in, or have access to, the chosen sector. If you already have a higher-level qualification in this specialism, it may impact on your eligibility.
