What you will learn
You'll identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions.
You'll understand how to provide initial mental health first aid support to someone in distress.
You'll learn how to advocate for mental health and wellbeing in a workplace setting.
You'll explore the factors that affect mental health, including stress, trauma, and social influences.
You'll understand the importance of self-care and maintaining your own mental wellbeing.
You'll learn how to signpost people to appropriate professional support and services.
How you will learn
The course is delivered fully online. You'll study written materials, complete knowledge-based activities, and work through assessments at your own pace. Assessment is through written questions and tasks that test your understanding of mental health first aid and workplace advocacy. There are no exams. You submit your work online and receive feedback from an assessor.

The centre will provide most materials. North Tyneside Employment and Skills will confirm anything else you need before you start.
