About this course

Free Level 2 Mental Health First Aid Course. Study online. You can work through this course from home, joining live virtual sessions that run Tuesday to Friday, 11am to 12:30pm. It covers how to recognise when someone is struggling with their mental health, how to offer safe and caring support, and how to promote wellbeing at work. You'll also develop communication techniques and practical skills relevant to support roles. The course takes 12 weeks.

You’ll learn practical skills, communication techniques and how to promote wellbeing at work. It’s ideal if you want to better understand others or step into support roles. Progression includes Level 3 Mental Health or wider wellbeing and people-focused pathways.

What you will learn

How you will learn

The course runs as a virtual classroom using Microsoft Teams. You attend live sessions Tuesday to Friday, 11am to 12:30pm. Learning methods include videos, independent research, group work, case studies, question and answer activities, report writing, PowerPoint presentations, creating leaflets, and witness statements. Your tutor gives feedback on every assignment. One-to-one support is available when needed, and daily group workshops cover more challenging parts of the course. You will need a laptop or PC and internet access.
