About this course

Level 2 Mental Health First Aid Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your work and home life.

The course is fully funded for eligible learners aged 19 or over. Fees may apply if you do not meet the eligibility criteria.

You'll explore mental health conditions, how to support colleagues experiencing mental ill health, and what a mentally healthy workplace looks like. Units cover recognising signs of mental health problems, understanding available support, and how to advocate for others at work. The course typically takes one year to complete. You'll finish with an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace.

Who this course is for

Around 450 million people currently experience mental health problems, with recent reports suggesting that over 12 million working days were lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety in just one year. It's important that employers are transparent and open about mental health issues, and this qualification builds an understanding of mental health problems and the support available to colleagues. Increasing the understanding of mental health of staff at all levels builds a culture of care and support.
