This course is ideal for anyone who wants to progress to employment in the Health and Social Care sector and into jobs such as a care worker, home carer, health care practice manager, a nursing auxiliary or assistant and a residential day care manager. The type of salary you could expect to earn from these professions, range from £14,000 to £38,000. The course provides a sound understanding of the core topics relevant to aspects of health, care and social care including communication, health and safety, rights and needs of others, equality and diversity, human lifespan and anatomy and physiology.
The teachers you will have are ambitious and passionate about the subjects they teach and have current, vocational experience in the field of health and care. Our teachers maintain their knowledge and skills by returning to practice at least once a year. You will learn and develop your skills by using a range of teaching and learning methods including practical activities, demonstrations and guest speakers, by having an individual learning plan, setting your own targets during tutorial sessions and by teachers ensuring there are opportunities for you to stretch and challenge your learning and development. You will complete a range of assessments including poster and presentation work, assignments, case studies and projects.

Your work placement hours count toward your overall programme and give you hands-on experience alongside your classroom learning.
