Free Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Selby. Classes run at Selby College, full-time during the day, over one year. You'll cover the practical skills and theoretical knowledge hairdressers use every day, including cutting, colouring, perming, blow-drying, and client consultation. There's a significant theory component, including some science, so expect classroom learning alongside hands-on salon work. Entry requires GCSEs at grade 3 or above in English or Maths, or completion of a Level 1 Hair and Beauty programme. You'll have an interview as part of the application process.

The course is designed to build upon those skills and knowledge gained on the VRQ and equip you with the work ready skills you will need to gain employment on successful completion.

Successful completion of the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Women's Hairdressing.
If you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course.

You'll also build a portfolio of evidence, complete ongoing practical assessments, and sit written tests online for each unit of the course.
