This Level 2 ESOL course is designed to help you develop your English skills and build confidence using the language in everyday situations, as well as in education and the workplace.
Throughout the course, you will focus on three key areas:
Reading - You will practise reading a variety of practical, real-world texts, including formal letters, leaflets, newsletters, and newspaper articles, as well as fiction such as short stories. You will learn to identify different text types, their purposes, and key features. In addition, you will develop a range of reading strategies to understand main ideas, find important details, recognise the writers attitude, and work out meaning from context.
Writing - You will learn to produce a range of written texts, such as emails, blog posts, articles, and narratives, across different topics. The course will support you in organising your writing, selecting an appropriate level of formality, and improving your grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Speaking and Listening - This part of the course will help you become both a confident speaker and an effective listener. You will take part in discussions on a variety of topics and deliver short informative talks to small groups. You will practise group conversations, asking and answering
questions, sharing opinions, and responding to others. You will also listen to short recordings to identify the main ideas and key details. In addition, you will work on your pronunciation and expand your grammar and vocabulary to communicate effectively in a range of real-life situations, such as speaking with your childrens teachers, attending job interviews, and participating in workplace meetings.
You will receive plenty of support and have the opportunity to improve your skills in a welcoming and engaging learning environment.
