Free Level 2 Engineering Course in Birmingham. Classes run at Solihull College and University Centre Woodlands Campus, full-time during the day.

The course covers three theory units: Working in Engineering, Engineering Principles, and Manufacture Principles. You'll also develop hands-on skills in bench fitting and lathe operation. Maths and English are included in your studies. The course takes one year to complete.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Engineering.

Who this course is for

This pre-apprenticeship programme is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to enter the engineering industry. Many students progress to Level 3 upon completion of this program.

During the course you will study the following: Three theory based units (Working in Engineering, Engineering Principle and Manufacture Principles) and two practical based unit which will involve leaning skills on bench fitting techniques and using the Lathe. Math and English study will also be a central feature of the course to allow progression to level 3 upon completion.

Entry requirements

Minimum level D/3 in Maths and English. An interest in working in the engineering industry is desirable. Some students may progress from Level 1
