About this course

Free Level 2 Creative Media Course in Westminster. Classes run at Lisson Grove Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the day.

The course runs over an academic year and covers a broad range of media skills. You'll explore video production, audio, animation, web design, interactive media, and motion graphics. Topics include production techniques, contextual research, understanding your audience, and creating media products for different platforms. In terms one and two, you work through guided projects. In terms two and three, you develop an independent Final Major Project.

You'll finish with a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, awarded by University of the Arts London.

Who this course is for

This UAL accredited course is designed to introduce you to a wide range of creative media concepts, methods and skills. This will include learning about and creating media products including video, audio, web & interactive media. There will be a focus on the changing nature of the creative industry and how creative media augments multiple platforms and social media. You will research contextual creative media practice and learn how to communicate your ideas in support of media practice to an evolving audience. You will explore narrative and non-linear communication through video and audio, web design and interactive media, games, animation, plus special effects in motion graphics.

Please note: This is a year-long course that runs on Tuesdays, 09.30-16.30, and Wednesdays, 09.30-12.30

What you will learn

  • You'll create video productions, including promos, adverts, and title sequences.
  • You'll produce audio content and explore sound design techniques.
  • You'll design websites and interactive media, including app concepts.
  • You'll develop animation and motion graphics skills.
  • You'll research creative media contexts and analyse audience needs.
  • You'll use industry-standard Adobe Creative Cloud software on Apple Mac computers.
  • You'll plan and complete an independent Final Major Project in your chosen area.

How you will learn

Classes run on Tuesdays (09:30 to 16:30) and Wednesdays (09:30 to 12:30) at Lisson Grove Centre. In the first two terms, your tutor guides you through class exercises and projects. In terms two and three, you work independently on a Final Major Project. Assessment is through a portfolio of practical work and your completed project.

The provider states you will need a creative portfolio as part of your application, preferably showing work in the subject area. Lisson Grove Centre will confirm anything else you need before you start.
