About this course

Level 2 Creative Media Course in Hitchin. Classes run at Hitchin Centre, full-time during the day. No tuition fees apply if you're 16 to 18 years old. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply, though an Advanced Learner Loan may help.

The course covers creative media production and technology across 36 weeks. You'll work on photography, video, animation, and digital design. There are real work experience opportunities with organisations including the Royal Opera House and the National Youth Theatre. You'll also take part in exhibitions, collaborative projects, and large-scale installation work.

You'll finish with a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, awarded by University of the Arts London.

You will also work on projects with local employers and in the community.Techniques you will develop include: filmmaking, lighting, editing, production planning, film theory and research, fiction and non fiction study.You will hone relevant workplace skills such as building rapport with others and problem-solving.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above including English; or, Four GSCEs at grade D or above, plus functional skills level 1 English; A level 1 qualification in a relevant subject area, passed with a merit or distinction grade - plus English GCSE grade D or above, or functional skills level 1 English.
