Free Level 2 Counselling Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your existing commitments. This free counselling course runs over 15 weeks and covers counselling theories, the main therapeutic approaches, and developing self-awareness around your own values and beliefs. You'll need a laptop or PC with internet access to take part. An English initial assessment is part of enrolment, to make sure online study suits you. This level 2 counselling qualification opens doors to support roles in care, education, and community settings.

Who this course is for

Are you interested in studying one of our counselling courses? Distance learning and a range of different courses make our qualifications accessible to everyone. This qualification will help develop your knowledge and skills around counselling by looking at counselling theories, key elements of the main theoretical approaches and will help you to develop self-understanding and reflect on your own values and beliefs. Successfully completing this qualification will help enable you to provide support and help to others.

To complete the Unit 4 assessment, learners will need to demonstrate how they can use core counselling skills in a helping relationship. In order to be assessed carrying out this task, learners must demonstrate particular skills via either; a video recording submission, or an appropriate witness will be needed to observe the learner demonstrating the skills and completing a witness statement.

An appropriate witness is classed as any person who has relevant experience, knowledge or qualifications in counselling skills. The Skills Network may contact the witness to validate their qualifications and experience.

Entry requirements

To enrol on one of our fantastic courses you will need to be able to access a laptop or PC with internet access. Courses are fully funded subject to learner eligibility although you must complete an English initial assessment to ensure this type of delivery is the right one for you. Please note that you will be liable for a GBP100 administration fee should you choose to not complete your qualification upon allocation of your tutor.

You must complete the qualification once a tutor has been assigned, or a £100 administration fee applies.
