About this course

Free Level 2 Coding Course. Study online, at your own pace, over 12 weeks. You can join live sessions or watch recordings whenever suits you, so the course fits around your other commitments. It is fully funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority for eligible residents. You will learn the logic and professional practices behind coding, building the digital skills employers in the region are actively looking for.

Who this course is for

If you want to learn to code and start a new career in tech, this funded online course is your next step if you live in York or North Yorkshire. In 12 weeks, you will work towards a Level 2 coding qualification, even if you have no previous experience.

Entry requirements

Aged 19 or over. Live in York or North Yorkshire. Unemployed and receiving benefits; OR economically inactive (e.g. caring responsibilities or health reasons); OR employed but earning below £25,750 gross annually before deductions.. Income: Below £25,750 gross annually (if employed). Must have the right to work and study in the UK. Must commit to 12-week programme.

How you will learn

The course runs fully online over 12 weeks. You can attend live sessions or watch recorded versions in your own time. Assessment is through coursework and tasks completed during the programme. You will have access to a Success Coach and an Employment Coach throughout, supporting both your learning and your next steps into work.

Think Employment will confirm everything you need before you start. You will need a device with internet access to join sessions and complete your coursework.
