About this course

Free Level 2 Childcare Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while working in an OFSTED-inspected childcare setting, earning your qualification alongside your day-to-day role. The course covers working with children and young people in a supporting capacity, typically under supervision. It takes around one year to complete. An initial assessment for numeracy and literacy takes place when you apply, and you'll have an interview before enrolment. You must be employed, volunteering, or childminding in an eligible setting to join.

These qualifications are designed for learners who want to develop a career as a childminder, youth worker, nursery nurse or nursery manager. You want to work with children, but you’ll generally work under supervision.
