Free Level 2 Car Mechanic Course in Yeovil. Classes run at Yeovil College's Motor Vehicle Training Centre, full-time Monday to Friday. You'll need GCSEs at grade 2 or above in English and Maths, and a completed Level 1 Motor Vehicle course to join. This level 2 car mechanic qualification builds the skills to service and maintain a range of modern vehicles. The course runs from September 2026 to June 2027, covering around 361 hours of theory and practical car mechanic classes. You'll also have an industry placement one day a week to gain hands-on experience.

This study programme represents the next step after the Level 1 Motor Vehicle course in developing your skills as a motor vehicle technician. It will prepare you with the skills required to perform vehicle servicing and maintenance operations on a variety of modern vehicles. It will allow you to progress onto Year 3 or into an apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
GCSE's at grade 2 or above in English and Maths. You will also need to have completed a Level 1 Motor Vehicle course.
