Free Level 2 Bricklaying Course in Worksop. Classes run at North Notts College, part-time during the day, so you can fit study around other commitments. Over the course of a year, you'll develop the practical and technical skills needed to work as a bricklayer in the construction industry. You'll start with an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you. It's aimed at learners aged 16 and above who work or want to work in the construction industry and specialise in working with wood. It's ideal for anyone who has already completed a level 1 carpentry or construction course and wants to move on to to the next level.
What you will learn
You'll lay bricks and blocks to construct walls, piers, and other structures.
You'll set out and mark up brickwork from construction drawings and specifications.
You'll mix and apply mortar to the correct consistency and joint profiles.
You'll build corners, junctions, and openings including arches and door frames.
You'll work safely on construction sites, following health and safety regulations.

You'll understand construction principles including damp-proof courses and cavity wall construction.
How you will learn
Learning takes place in the classroom and in practical workshop sessions where you'll carry out hands-on bricklaying tasks.
