Free Level 2 Barbering Course in Southampton. Classes run at Southampton College, full-time during the day. This barbering qualification is designed for learners aged 16 to 18 years old (or up to 24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan). You'll need four GCSEs at grades 3 to 9, including English and maths, or a relevant Level 1 qualification at merit or distinction with equivalent English and maths. You'll develop knowledge of skin and hair science to support your barbering work.
How you will learn
You'll learn through practical sessions in a barbering environment, working on real clients as your skills develop. Assessment combines practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out barbering services, with written or online knowledge tests. You'll build a portfolio of evidence throughout the course to demonstrate your competence across the required units.
