The course includes cutting, styling, facial beard shaping and consultation, and health and safety. Additionally, you'll develop retailing and reception skills, and learn how to promote future products and services to enhance the growth of the business. You'll be equipped to enter the industry with all the essential knowledge required for a successful career in barbering, having developed your wider communication and commercial skills.Your course will be a mix of salon, classroom and workshop sessions that explore practical skills, working with employers and the local community and work experience.Course content includes client care and communication, health and safety, working in the industry, creating a photographic image, cosmetic and photographic makeup, lash and brow treatments, makeup services, body art, skin tanning, the art of colouring and dressing hair and making and styling a hair addition.You will hone relevant workplace skills such as client care, wider communication and commercial skills and problem-solving.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at Grade D or above to include English and mathematics.
