Free Level 1 Understanding Community Interpreting Course in Oldham. Classes run at Werneth Park Lifelong Learning Centre, part-time during the day over 12 weeks. To join, you'll need to have completed or be enrolled on a Level 1 ESOL vocational course, and attend a placement appointment interview. The course builds your knowledge of the community interpreter role, including English language awareness, community organisations, and the settings where volunteer interpreters work. Who this course is for
Greater Manchester residents only. This course is a progression pathway for learners who have completed a Level 1 in ESOL and are looking to learn about the role of the community interpreter. It will develop knowledge and skills needed to explore the role of the community interpreter by raising awareness of English language, community and organisations, key aspects of the work of a volunteer and settings in which a volunteer works.
