Free Level 1 Safeguarding Course in Penrith. Classes run at Eden Rural Foyer, part-time during the day over 9 weeks.

The course gives you a short introduction to safeguarding. You'll learn how to recognise signs of abuse and understand your responsibilities when working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults. Topics include types of abuse, how to respond to concerns, and who to report to.

You'll need an English qualification at Entry Level 3 or above, such as a GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent. An initial assessment confirms the course is the right level for you. You'll finish with an Ascentis Award in Understanding Safeguarding for Work, Education and Life.

A qualification course that gives you a short introduction to safeguarding for those with little or no prior knowledge. It is ideal for those working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults.

Entry requirements

As this is a level 1 course you should have an English qualification at entry level 3 or above. This could be a GCSE or an equivalent such as a functional skills qualification. You will also need to undertake an initial assessment to determine if this is the right level for you.
