About this course

Free Level 1 Occupational Studies for the Workplace Course in Rossendale. Classes run at Aspire Sporting Academy, full-time during the day. The course runs over 6 weeks and covers four areas: safeguarding and Prevent, preparing to work in schools, wellbeing, and occupational studies. It's designed for unemployed adults who want to move into work in education, particularly as teaching assistants in primary schools. The programme works with local schools and employment agencies to help you take the next step into paid work.

Who this course is for

Our Aspire2Work Level 1 programme is designed to progress learners into work in the Education sector, including as Teaching Assistants in Primary Schools. We deliver a holistic programme over 6 weeks, including up to 4 Level 1 learning aims in Safeguarding & Prevent, Preparing to Work in Schools, Wellbeing and Occupational Studies. We work with local schools and agencies including Randstad to progress our learners into meaningful employment. The qualification is intended to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning in schools. By completing the qualification, learners will develop basic knowledge of child development and changing roles and relationships in education which could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care sector. It could be useful to learners working in education settings.
