Note that entry requires L2 ESOL or Functional Skills English, plus completion of two prior courses at the college. You'll finish with a Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Health and Care.

Who this course is for

This qualification is intended to provide learners with a broad introduction to the health and care sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills. They are designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in health and care or other related sectors.

This is a part time course. (12 weeks - 4 hours per week)

Throughout the course you will study 3 units in total. These include:

� Principles and Values in Health and Social Care (Adults and Children and Young People), Early Years and Childcare

� Human Growth and Development

� Equality and inclusion in health, social care and childrens and young peoples settings

Entry requirements

  • L2 ESOL or functional skills English

-Completion of the Introduction into working in HSC course (6-week course) & Entry Level Award in Health & Care (12-week course)

How you will learn

You'll attend classroom sessions at Tameside College four hours per week. Learning is delivered through taught sessions covering three units. Assessment is based on the work you complete across those units during the course.
