About this course

Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Newham. Classes run at Newham College London East Ham Campus, part-time during the day. It may be free if you are 19 or over and unemployed or on a low wage. Fees may apply for others.

The course runs over one week. You will explore what kind of work suits you and build the practical skills to apply for jobs. Topics include CV writing, job searching, interview preparation, and motivation. Entry Level 3 may be helpful, but basic maths and English at entry level is enough to get started.

You will finish with an NCFE Level 1 Award in Employability Skills.

Who this course is for

This course will help you to focus on the type of job you would like to do and help you with the motivation and skills to apply for and get the job you have always wanted. This programme will transform your thinking and improve your confidence levels. You will also be learning with other people who are in the same position as you. You will be trained by a multi-award-winning trainer and career coach.

Entry requirements

You should have basic Maths & English (entry levels accepted). There are no subject-specific recommended prior learning requirements for these qualifications. However, you may find it helpful if you've already achieved an Entry Level 3 qualification.
