Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Leigh. Classes run at Leigh Training Centre, full-time during the day. The programme runs for 11 months and is tailored to individual needs. It covers employability skills, independent living, and building confidence and self-esteem. English and maths are woven in alongside the employability skills work. There are no specific entry requirements. You leave with a City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills.
Who this course is for
This 46 week programme is aimed to provide young people with an EHCP or additional needs the skills required to prepare them effectively for adulthood. The programme is very much tailored to individual requirements and includes employability skills, independent living, confidence building and self-esteem. Although qualifications are not necessarily the focus of the programme, we always encourage young people to develop their skills and knowledge in English and maths alongside employability skills. We also focus on personal development, behaviour, welfare and attitudes of the young people, all learners will work towards identified areas of improvement throughout their time at GKTS.

How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Leigh Training Centre, with a programme tailored to your individual requirements. Learning is practical and person-centred. Assessment is ongoing and matched to your needs throughout the 11-month programme. The centre focuses on building skills through supported activities rather than formal exams, though qualifications are encouraged where appropriate.
