About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Course in Liverpool. Classes run at The Learning Foundry Liverpool, part-time during the day.

The course runs for 14 weeks and covers the skills employers look for. You'll learn how to write a CV, prepare for interviews, and develop teamwork and time management. The programme also includes two weeks of work experience in an industry that suits you.

The course is for 16 to 18 year olds not currently in education, employment, or training. Those aged 19 or over may be eligible with an Education Health and Care Plan. You'll finish with a Level 1 Certificate in Employability.

This course is all about helping you grow, both personally and professionally. You’ll complete:

Level 1 Certificate in Employability - Learn how to write a standout CV, master interview technique, and develop the skills employers are looking for including teamwork to time management.

Two weeks of industry work experience - Step into the real world with a work placement that suits your skills and interests. Whether it’s retail, construction, admin, or hospitality, you’ll gain hands-on experience and build your confidence.

English and Maths - Based on your current level, you’ll work towards a nationally recognised English and/or Maths qualification - essential for any job or further training.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions at The Learning Foundry Liverpool. Teaching covers practical employability skills alongside personal development. The two-week work placement is a core part of the programme. Assessment is through coursework and practical tasks completed during the course.
