Free Level 1 Electrical Installation Course in Cannock. Classes run full-time at South Staffordshire College Cannock Campus, over 35 weeks. To start, you'll need two GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent, or a relevant Gateway Programme. You'll cover the knowledge and practical skills behind safe electrical installations, including circuits and wiring. Assessment combines online multiple-choice exams and practical tasks.

If you enjoy practical work and have an eye for detail, electrical installations could be a great career for you. Electricians install and maintain the equipment needed for the safe and efficient use of electricity, including fitting and repairing electrical circuits and wiring.

During this course, you will study various units surrounding electrical installations and be assessment is through a combination of online multiple-choice exams and practical assessments.

Study in our purpose-built electrical workshops to gain an insight into working within the electrical trade.

Please note that this course is for school leavers aged 16-18. Adults aged 19+ can apply for one of our Level 2 courses.

Entry requirements

To start at Level 1 you will need an interest in becoming an electrician and have successfully completed a relevant Gateway Programme or have 2x GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent.
