If you are interested in a career in the electrical industry, then these courses are a starting point to gain the experience and knowledge required before becoming a qualified electrician.
Using a mix of taught sessions and project work, you will learn how to fabricate containment, install and terminate cables, inspect and test electrical installations, and diagnose and rectify electrical faults, as well as learning the underpinning industry regulations and electrical science.
To start at Level 1 you should have a minimum of 4 GCSEs including minimum grade 3 in English and maths.
If you do not have these grades, you may be able to start on our multi-trades course and then progress to this level.
If you are unsure which level to apply for, you will be able to discuss this at interview.

What you could study next
After this level 1 electrical installation qualification, the natural next step is a Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation, also available at many colleges. From there, a Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services is the qualification most employers and apprenticeship schemes require for a fully qualified electrician. Brighton MET East Campus may offer these higher levels, so it's worth asking about progression routes when you enrol.
