Level 1 Culinary Skills Course in Loughborough. Classes run at Main Campus, full-time during the day. Fees may apply, though 16 to 18 year olds may be entitled to fee remission, and some 19 or over learners may also be eligible. You'll need at least two GCSEs at grade G/1 or above (or equivalent), plus a short numeracy and literacy test. Over one year, you'll cover a range of cookery methods, food safety in catering, kitchen equipment, and personal workplace skills. You'll also have the chance to enter local, national, and international competitions.

How you will learn
You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in a kitchen environment, alongside classroom-based study. Assessment covers practical cookery tasks and underpinning knowledge. You'll also complete a work placement, giving you experience in a working kitchen. A short numeracy and literacy test is part of the entry process.
