Free Level 1 Computer Course in Derby. Classes run at Derby College Hudson Building, part-time on Wednesday mornings or afternoons. The course runs for 17 weeks and covers the everyday digital skills you need at work, at home, and in daily life. You'll learn how to use devices, communicate online, create and edit documents, shop and pay online safely, and troubleshoot basic problems. There are no entry requirements. You'll complete a brief assessment before you start so the course is matched to the right level for you.

This is a free ICT course aimed at adults aged 19+.The qualification provides essential digital skills which are needed in a wide range of situations in life, learning and work. Successful learners will be able to make appointments, order goods and services, organise payments using online platforms, conduct video calls, create, edit and save a range of documents, and troubleshoot basic problems on their device.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements. However, you will be required to complete a brief assessment to ensure that the course is suitable for you.

How you will learn
Classes run once a week at the centre. Your progress is assessed throughout the course to support your development. Assessment is ongoing rather than through a single exam, so your tutor can track how you're doing and help you build on each skill as you go.
What you will need to bring
It helps to have your own laptop or PC and internet access at home so you can practise between sessions, but this is not essential. Bring a pen and paper for taking notes. Derby College Hudson Building will confirm anything else you need before you start.
