Free Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery (Construction) Course in Peterlee. Classes run at East Durham College Peterlee Campus, full-time during the day. You'll develop practical hand skills and build underpinning knowledge of site carpentry techniques over 36 weeks. Practical sessions take place in a workshop. Theory sessions, including technical drawing, are classroom-based. Entry requires literacy and numeracy screening at Entry Level 3 or above. Who this course is for
This course provides learners with a broad range of knowledge, understanding and skills training to become qualified within site carpentry. The main focus of the level 1 carpentry and joinery course is to develop practical hand skills and enhance basic underpinning knowledge of relevant industrial processes and techniques. These will be delivered in a workshop environment for practical sessions and classroom based for theory sessions such as technical drawing and I. L. T. Also Incorporated into the study programme will be functional skills (maths & English), tutorial, work experience, academic tutorial and relevant trips & guest visits.
