This free car mechanic course runs for one year and covers the core systems of light vehicles, from engines and brakes to electrical and transmission systems. Who this course is for

TThis course is aimed at 16–19 year olds who have a keen interest in working in the automotive industry, as an introduction to that world.

The course is divided between theory sessions and practical sessions in a workshop. You will be working on light vehicles. learning the various systems and how to remove, assess and refit assemblies.

Entry requirements

A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English.
