Level 1 Car Mechanic Course in Melton Mowbray. Classes run at Brooksby College, full-time during the day. Fees may apply depending on your age and circumstances, though fee remission may be available for eligible learners. This is a practical, workshop-based car mechanic qualification for those with little or no experience in the motor industry. You'll spend most of your time in the workshop rather than the classroom, learning how vehicles work from the ground up. The course takes one year. Entry requirements include GCSE English and Maths at grade 1/G or above.

For students aged 16-18 or 16-24 with an approved Educational Health Care
Plan (EHCP).
If you are a school leaver and you have little or no experience of the motor
industry then this IMI course will provide you with a solid foundation to
progress towards an industry-recognised qualification.
This programme uses a practical approach, with classroom delivery kept to a
minimum in order to gain an understanding of motor vehicle technology from a
workshop environment. It also provides the Maths, English, and work skills
you’ll need to successfully progress into the world of work or further
study.
As part of the course, we will provide overalls, safety boots and safety
glasses.There is a course fee of £50 for all learning materials, including
E-books.
