Free Level 1 BTEC Introductory Diploma in Public Services Course in Boston. Classes run at Boston College, full-time during the day. The course runs for 9 months and gives you a practical introduction to the uniformed public services, covering the skills and knowledge needed to move toward a career in that sector. You'll also develop your English and maths alongside work experience opportunities. To join, you'll need two GCSEs at grade 2 or above (including English or maths), or an Entry Level 3 qualification, a Certificate in Skills for Working Life, or an ESOL Entry Level 3 qualification.
Who this course is for
The level 1 Introductory Diploma is your starting block to developing the key skills required to pursue a career within any of the Public Services whilst increasing your English and Maths and work experience opportunities. The course will provide you with the opportunity to explore in a practical way, the skills that are required for entry into the Uniformed Public Services. It will give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for them for employment. Career opportunities within the Police, Navy, Royal Marines, Security, Army, Royal Air Force, Fire Brigade, Mountain Rescue, Ambulance, Prison Services and Border Patrol can be closer than you realise. From being upside down in a Kayak, Camping, rock climbing and learning military foot drill to studying security, law, Physical fitness and teamwork, our staff and qualification will get you there.
Entry requirements
Two GCSEs at grades 2 or above (Old GCSE grade E or above) or equivalent (to include English or maths), or any one of the following, an Entry 3 qualification, a Certificate in Skills for Working Life or Life Skills, an ESOL Entry L3 qualification.
