What you will learn

  • You'll learn how to lay bricks accurately using standard bonding patterns.
  • You'll practise mixing and applying mortar to the correct consistency.
  • You'll build straight, plumb, and level brick structures.
  • You'll learn how to read and interpret basic construction drawings.
  • You'll understand health and safety requirements on construction sites.
  • You'll develop skills in setting out and measuring for brickwork.
  • You'll learn how to use and maintain the hand tools of the trade.

How you will learn

You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in the classroom and workshop, building and developing bricklaying techniques directly.
