About this course

Free Level 1 Art and Design Course in Stoke-on-Trent. Classes run at Stoke-on-Trent College Cauldon Campus, full-time during the day.

The course runs over 34 weeks and introduces you to a wide range of creative disciplines. You'll explore stop motion and documentary filmmaking, product design, and photography. Topics also cover graphics and other media-based practices. Tutors guide your ideas throughout. You'll need two GCSEs at grade E to G, an Entry Level 3 qualification, or something similar to join. There's a pre-induction interview to make sure the level is right for you.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Art, Design and Media at Level 1.

Who this course is for

This course is designed for students who want to progress to our Level 2 Media or Graphics courses.

This is a one year diploma course at Level 1 which is tailored to introduce learners of all abilities to a whole range of different media based discilines.

Explore the world of stop motion or documentary, experiment with product design, or spend hours in the photography studio.

Expert tutors guide your ideas and help to fan the flame of your creativity.

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs grade E-G, Entry Level 3, or another relevant Entry Level qualification. You will have a pre-induction interview/ assessment to make sure this is the right level for you.
