Free Level 1 Accounting Course in Catterick Garrison. Evening classes run at Catterick Library & Information Centre, part-time over 8 weeks. This free accounting course covers computerised accounting using Sage, building practical skills you can use straight away in a workplace setting. Classes fit around your existing commitments. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm the Level 1 Accounting Qualification is the right starting point for you. The course is free for eligible adults aged 19 or over.
Who this course is for
This is an 8-week accredited distance learning course for those who wish to gain a Sage Accounts qualification at a time that suits them.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice,further eligibility may be linked to where you live and your individual income.
What you will learn
You'll set up and navigate a Sage accounts system
You'll process sales invoices and credit notes
You'll process purchase invoices and supplier payments
You'll reconcile bank transactions using accounting software
You'll produce basic financial reports from a computerised system
You'll understand the principles of double-entry bookkeeping at introductory level
How you will learn
You'll learn through guided classroom sessions one evening a week over 8 weeks. The course is assessed through practical tasks and assignments completed using Sage accounting software. Your work is submitted and marked against the VTCT qualification criteria. There are no written exams.
