Free Level 2 Fabrication and Welding Course in Crawley. Classes run full-time during the day at Crawley College. This course builds on Level 1 welding and fabrication skills, taking you into more advanced positional welding techniques. You'll work with TIG, MIG, and MMA welding processes, including vertical and overhead positions, across a range of materials and thicknesses such as aluminium and stainless steel. The course runs for one year. To join, you'll need a Level 1 Fabrication and Welding qualification or equivalent, plus four GCSEs at grade 3 or above.
Who this course is for
div This Practical based course with underpinning theory is designed to build on and advance the skills gained on the Level 1 course to further develop the students' welding and fabrication skills preparing them for work within the industry. /div div /div div The majority of the welding (TIG MIG and MMA) will be produced “positionally” i.e. vertically and overhead and will be carried out on a variety of material types and thicknesses including aluminium and stainless steel. /div div /div div You will be trained to carry out destructive testing on all welds interpreting the results and producing written reports all to industry standard. There will be a strong emphasis on weld quality and presentation with studen

What you will learn
You'll practise TIG, MIG, and MMA welding techniques in positional settings, including vertical and overhead welds.
You'll work with a range of materials including aluminium and stainless steel.
You'll develop fabrication skills across different material thicknesses.
You'll apply underpinning theory to support your practical welding work.
You'll build the technical knowledge needed to work in the fabrication and welding industry.
How you will learn
Learning is practical and classroom-based. You'll spend the majority of your time in a workshop environment, carrying out hands-on welding tasks. This is supported by underpinning theory sessions in the classroom. Assessment is through practical tasks and theoretical work that demonstrate your welding and fabrication skills at Level 2.
What you will need to bring
The centre will provide most materials. Crawley College will confirm anything else you need before you start.
