Free Health and Social Care Level 3 Course in Farnborough. Classes run at The Sixth Form College Farnborough. This two-year, full-time daytime course covers the values, knowledge, and skills that underpin health and social care practice. You'll study topics including person-centred care, mental health, anatomy and physiology, and long-term conditions. The level 3 health and social care qualification carries the same UCAS points as one A Level, making it a strong route into higher education or employment in the sector. Entry requires GCSE grade 4 or above in English Language, Maths, and Science.

Entry requirements
To access vocational courses, students would generally achieve grade 4s (or higher) in their GCSES.
You should have at least a grade 4 in GCSE maths.
You should have 4-4 in GCSE double science or a grade 4 in biology and one other individual science.
You should have at least a grade 4 in GCSE English language.

How you will learn
The course combines classroom-based teaching with two types of assessment. Mandatory units are assessed through Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) coursework and external examinations set by OCR. Coursework units include person-centred care and mental health support. External examinations cover principles of health and social care and anatomy and physiology. Optional units are assessed through NEA coursework. Assessment weightings reflect the updated OCR specification for students starting in September 2025.
