About this course

GCSE Maths in Winchester. Classes run at Peter Symonds College Stoney Lane Campus, part-time during the day over 33 weeks.

The course is free if you don't already hold a grade 4 or above. If you do, or if other criteria apply, fees may apply. Who this course is for

To gain at least a 4 Grade. To gain a better understanding of maths and confidence in its use. Students will cover Statistics & Number: data collection, data presentation, data interpretation, probability. Number & Algebra: arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio & proportion, equations, sequences. Geometry & Algebra: angles & shapes, measures & construction, volume, area, algebra. Please Note: After application, students will be invited to a short (20 minute) Numeracy assessment, to ensure that they are placed on the correct course.

You'll attend daytime classroom sessions at Peter Symonds College Stoney Lane Campus. Learning is structured around the AQA GCSE Mathematics specification. Assessment is by written examinations at the end of the course. There is no coursework component. You'll complete a short numeracy assessment before you start, so the centre can confirm you're on the right level.
