About this course

Free GCSE Maths. Study online with Westmorland and Furness Adult Education, fitting your learning around your life.

The course runs over 32 weeks and is intensive, so you'll need to commit regular time each week. It covers number, algebra, ratio, geometry, probability, and statistics. You'll need a grade 3 in GCSE Maths, or to complete an initial assessment, to join. You'll also need a good level of English to follow written materials. The course is free if you have not previously achieved a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths.

You'll finish with a GCSE in Mathematics.

Who this course is for

This is a one year highly intensive course and is free to those who have not previously achieved a 9-4 (old A*- C) grade in GCSE maths. It would be ideal if you are seeking employment or career advancement, or wish to access higher education.

Entry requirements

A previous achievement of grade 3 (old D) and/or completion of initial Graded Assessment.

You need a good level of English skills so you can follow spoken and written instructions and read handouts and text books.

How you will learn

You study online, working through materials at your own pace. The course is assessed by two written exams and one calculator exam, all sat at the end of the course. These are AQA-set papers marked externally. You may need to attend an approved exam centre to sit your exams.
