GCSE English Language Course in St Albans. Evening classes run at Oaklands College St Albans Campus, two and a half hours a week over 32 weeks.
The course covers reading fiction and non-fiction, creative and viewpoint writing, and how writers use language to engage readers. You'll also practise speaking and listening in formal contexts, and work on grammar and punctuation. These are the core skills employers and universities look for in a GCSE English Language qualification.
You'll finish with a GCSE in English Language.
We will give you an online assessment and interview to help decide which course is right for you. You may also be asked to complete a short piece of free writing.
If you are not at GCSE level yet you can study Skills for Life programmes, which are nationally recognised qualifications and can be a stepping stone to GCSEs.
You will be expected to attend all sessions and have 95% attendance or above.
