About this course

Free GCSE English Language Course in Sunderland. Classes run at Southmoor Academy 6th Form, full-time during the day.

The course runs over 11 months. You'll study reading, writing, spoken language, and how to analyse and produce different types of text. Topics include fiction and non-fiction reading, creative writing, and transactional writing such as letters and articles. You'll also develop skills in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

You'll finish with a GCSE in English Language, awarded by AQA.

Who this course is for

If you enjoy maths and physics and like problem solving then you may be interested in a career in engineering. It's equivalent to one A level, studied over 2 years which means when you have finished the course you can use it to get a job, or an apprenticeship or you can use it alongside other qualifications for getting into university to study engineering related degree courses.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above including English, Maths and Science or a relevant Level 2 work related qualification.
