About this course

Free GCSE English Language Course in London. Classes run full-time during the day at Greig City Academy, over 12 months.

You'll study reading, writing, and spoken English across a range of texts and tasks. The course covers analysing fiction and non-fiction, writing for different purposes and audiences, and communicating clearly in speech. Assessment is by written exams and a spoken language endorsement.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel GCSE in English Language.

Who this course is for

This course is for students who want to continue studying Art and design after GCSE. You'll already be familiar with some of the skills and techniques, but the A level will give you the chance to study in more depth and develop your own particular artistic strengths and interests. It will suit you if you are creative and enjoy combining theory with lots of practical work. Even if you aren't aiming for a career in art and design, this course will give you a set of transferable skills including creativity, communication and the ability to work independently which can be useful in a range of careers.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom lessons, guided reading, and writing tasks. Assessment is by two written exams at the end of the course. There is also a spoken language endorsement, assessed separately, which does not affect your final grade but is reported on your certificate.
