Free Functional Skills Maths Level 1 in Coalville. Classes run at Stephenson College. You'll study full-time during the day, covering number skills, fractions, decimals, percentages, data handling, and everyday problem-solving. No previous qualifications are required. Acceptance is by individual interview and assessment. The course runs over one year. This is a recognised GCSE maths alternative for work and further study.

The course is tailored to individual needs and sessions run in a supportive environment with experienced teachers. The course is suitable for people who want to increase their confidence, progress at work, get a job or help their children. The course will help you improve your general number skills, eg fractions, decimals and percentage as well as working with data, eg calculating averages and working with measurements. It will also teach you how to use maths to solve everyday problems. At the end of the course there will be an external exam.
Entry requirements
No qualifications are necessary, but an Entry Level 3 Maths qualification would be an advantage. Acceptance is by individual interview and assesssment.
