What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages in practical contexts.
You'll use and interpret measurements, including length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll read and understand data presented in tables, charts, and graphs.
You'll solve problems involving money, such as budgeting and calculating costs.
You'll apply maths to real tasks, such as reading timetables or working out quantities.
You'll check your own calculations and identify errors in working.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Wellington House, working through tasks and problems with tutor support. Assessment is by a written exam set and marked by City and Guilds. There is no coursework component. Your tutor will prepare you for the exam throughout the course, using practice tasks and feedback to build your skills and readiness.
