About this course

Free Functional Skills English Level 2 Course. Study online, at your own pace, without travelling to a centre. This free functional skills english course for adults takes around 20 weeks and covers reading, writing, and communication skills at a level that employers and colleges recognise as a GCSE english equivalent. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm Level 2 is the right starting point and to help plan your learning. You need to be 19 or over and resident in England to be eligible.

Who this course is for

You will need to have basic literacy skills. This is a course designed to help you brush up on skills you are not confident with or have forgotten since school

Entry requirements

Eligible participants must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of the current academic year, reside in England on the first day of learning. Further eligiblity criteria may apply.

  • You'll use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in your writing.

How you will learn

You'll study online through a mix of reading, written tasks, and practice activities. Assessment is by externally set and marked exams, covering reading and writing. There is also a speaking and listening component, which is assessed separately. All assessments are set by Pearson Edexcel.
